The Setting

Venta is situated on 50 acres of scenic woodland with extensive outdoor facilities in an extraordinary country setting. The atmosphere is safe and often compared to that of a summer camp. The school is located in Carp, 5 minutes from Kanata, close to Stittsville and Dunrobin and only 25 minutes west of downtown Ottawa.  The property provided the setting for the summer program of the University of Ottawa Child Study Centre from 1958 until 1981. Venta's founder, Dr. Agatha Sidlauskas renovated the facilities and opened Venta Preparatory School on September 14, 1981. The property is also the setting for 5 Star Summer Camps run in July and August.
