3rd Annual Alumni Softball Tournament and Pub Night:

Location: VentaPreparatory School ball diamond
Time: 12:00PM – 4:00 PM

Last June, the 2nd Annual Venta Alumni Softball Tournament was a total success. Although some houses had less of a turnout than others, we had super weather for softball, good eats at O’Connors, and overall we had a great time.

This year, we plan to continue the tradition. The tournament will be held on Saturday June 14th starting at noon, and the pub night will begin at 4:30pm. All Venta alumni and family over the age of 15 are welcome to the softball tournament and/or the pub night.

Please note that food and drinks will not be offered at the school. Once the tournament is finished, we will regroup at O’Connor’s Pub, located in the Kanata Centrum Mall, www.oconnorsirishpub.com, for some awards and socializing. The Alumni Trophy has been decorated with Michael House as a winner for 2007, and the 2008 plaque is ready to go. Attendance is more important than competition, so don’t be shy to sign up with your house.

Venta graduates from the years 1998 and 1988 are invited to a reception at Marilyn and Doc’s house to celebrate their 10th and 20th reunion at 4:00pm.

If you know of other alumni who may not be on our contact list, please forward this invitation to them, so they may sign up for the softball, come out to O’Connor’s for a visit, or at least get an email address on our database for future mailings.

If you and your family would like to participate in the softball tournament, keep in mind:

If the tournament gets rained out, the pub night will still be on, starting at 4:30PM;
If you can wear your 2007 t-shirt, the fee is only $5.00. If you need a 2008 shirt, the cost is $20.00;
bring your own refreshments (no alcohol please), chairs, and gloves for the afternoon;
if you don’t have a glove, there will be extras available;
if you aren’t sure which house to sign up for, or you want updated information about the event, visit http://www.ventapreparatoryschool.com/Alumni.html;
All are welcome at the pub night regardless of age, but minors must vacate O’Connors before 9pm.

It is important for me to have numbers in advance, so please register before June 1st.
