Private Chess Lessons Offered:

The game of chess has proven helpful in developing a logical mind. As a result, chess is being used in a new approach to mathematics. This year, more than 130,000 children in Canada will learn how to play chess as part of their curriculum.

Venta students will now have the opportunity to take chess lessons with a professional chess instructor as an extra-curricular activity during lunch.

We have invited the CHESS'N MATH ASSOCIATION to spearhead this, by providing a qualified instructor who will come to the school Monday's from 12:15 - 1:15. If you are interested in having your child join, please contact Tracey Quinn. (info@ventapreparatoryschool.com)

The cost is $65 per child and the activity will run for 8 consecutive weeks. There are various levels from beginners to advanced. Each lesson is followed by a practice period which allows the instructor to look over areas of difficulty with each student individually. Exercise sheets are given at the end of each lesson so the student can review what was taught in class.

For more information about the CHESS'N MATH ASSOCIATION please visit their website: www.chess-math.org
