Retailers Will Help Us Raise Money!
Dear Venta Families and Friends,
We’re pleased to present some exciting news about a fundraising program for our school. It’s
called the Avgen Gift Card Program. To participate in the program you purchase gift cards and certificates from Avgen, and because of the amazing selection of popular retailers, you don’t have to purchase anything you don’t want.
Avgen carries gift cards from a large number of major retailers. Popular retailers that participate in the Avgen program include: Loblaws, IGA, Sobeys, Price Chopper, Foodland, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Safeway, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware, BlockBuster, Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s, Wendy’s, Second Cup, Cineplex, Future Shop, Keg, La Senza, , Pizza Pizza, GAP, Old Navy, Kelsey’s, the Bay, Zellers, Pioneer Petroleums, Petro Canada, Esso, Ultramar, Rogers Video, Sears, Shoppers, Staples, Winners and many others.
Avgen has agreements in place with all the participating retailers so that Avgen can sell the gift cards to our school at a discount. Our member families buy the gift cards from us for face value and redeem them for full value. Our school keeps the difference as fund raising revenue. With this program everyone wins:
• The Retailer gets continuing business from our school.
• We receive a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling of unwanted items. We only buy the cards for purchases that we would normally make.
• Our school gets an ongoing source of revenue.
The beauty of this program is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending anything additional. Just spend your family’s regular shopping dollars at the stores that participate in the discount program. Gift cards can be used for just about any purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, furniture, building supplies, auto repair, gasoline, dining out and much more.
New this year, we will be offering the option to place a standing gift card order, for groceries, gas and other things you use everyday. Your coordinator will send you a reminder email when payment is due, and the order will then be placed automatically for you. Should you wish to change your order at any time, simply contact the coordinator who will make the changes on your behalf. This is a great way to ensure a continuous revenue stream for the school.
Also at the request of some parents looking to thank their child’s teacher this holiday season, we will also be maintaining a teacher “wish list” for those difficult to buy for teachers! You can take the stress of our teacher gift-giving by participating in this program, all the while knowing the teacher is receiving something they really want.
Orders will be placed once a month starting November 1, 2011. Order forms are being sent out to you today, and are due by October 28th to meet to November 1st order deadline. Orders can be added or changed at any time during the month, simply contact your coordinator.
