Michael Spratt

Venta Aaron Macdonald.

Mike started teaching grade 9 and 10 Math and Science at Venta in 1996. In addition, he also teaches Leadership in the Outdoors. Mike is a" jack of all trades" as he maintains the Venta computer network, organizes the biennial Science Fair, helps with the Intramural programme, Bike-A-Thon for CHEO, Halloween Dance, and the ski trip. Mike is also the Michael House staff representative.

Mike is very tuned into his students' needs and thoroughly enjoys teaching at Venta. He is a dynamic presenter and is always focused on each child's progress. Mike has a great sense of humour and is often referred to as a "kid in a suit". One of Mike's students was amazed at a recent ski trip as he watched Mike gracefully snow board down the hill while commenting that he can also just as easily explain black holes.

In his spare time MIke enjoys fishing and woodworking. He is an avid snow boarder and skateboarder. He spends many hours training for and participating in long distance running and triathlons.

Mike was born and raised in Manotick and he spent most of his summers working at the family business, Spratt Sand and Gravel. Mike received a BSc in Physics and Mathematics at Bishop's University, followed by his teaching certificate.

Mike and his wife Una, live in Ottawa.
