Frostbite Alert - January 28 -30, 2010
The Medical Officer of Health is issuing a Frost Bite Alert for Thursday January 28 through to Saturday January 30, 2010 as Environment Canada is forecasting that the wind-chill will be -25 Celsius or colder.

The Kit is designed to inform the general public about cold-related risks and provide a coordinated response to extreme cold weather.
A Frostbite Alert is in effect when Environment Canada forecasts a wind chill of -25 or colder. Key service providers such as schools are encouraged to monitor the weather and use the information in the Kits to ensure the safety of individuals. Factors such as the age of your students, the length of time they spend outdoors, how well dressed they are for the weather and the layout of your play areas you may decide to limit or reduce outdoor recess or activities during a frostbite alert.
A Frostbite Warning is in effect when Environment Canada forecasts a wind chill of -35 or colder. A public service announcement will be released to the media to warn people about the danger of frostbite.
